PINE RIDGE MISSION TRIP

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 2:47 pm

We went to Wanblee, South Dakota on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation.  Ed and Linda Franzen from Grove Christian Center have been going here for quite some time.  Ed has piped in a boiler and installed a wood burning stove just for starters.  Linda has cooked for the mission as well as the community.  She also has provided upholstry service to the mission.  We, along with a team from The Grove, met Ed and Linda at the Eagle Nest Life Center.  We brought supplies to do Vacation Bible School, clothes distribution and a little bit of clean up.  We spent the week of June 8th in red clay mud happy to be serving God in this capacity.  Team members include; Ed and Linda Franzen, Dave Wier and his sons Adam and Nick along with their buddy Michael Taylor, Jim Rowen, Jill Westbrook, Shawn Rockwell and me, Russell Westbrook.   Later in the week, Children’s Pastor Amery, his wife Mari and their two kids Sara and Samuel, joined us to wrap things up.  Thanks to all who made this such a great trip including Pastor Dave and Praise Christian Center for the use of their trailer.  It was a much needed blessing for this trip!   And to the people of Grove Christian Center for all of your donations and support.  You are awesome!   Thanks to everyone who donated clothes and other items that we took to the good people of Wanblee.  Check out the photos of a successful week of ministry.
